This is a practical survey service provided by Tech21 E.S. to measure exactly what the Earths Magnetic Field vector is in the vicinity of the oil field. This background field observation removes the biggest source of MWD uncertainty, namely the local crustal effects. Removing this source of uncertainty can result in doubling the accuracy of the MWD.
